This original work is part ink painting, part ink sketch, and all parts Frida Kahlo. :) The inspiration to paint this came from a photograph taken of Kahlo by Lucienne Bloch in the 1930s. Like many an alt millennial girl, growing up I found Frida and her paintings super inspiring. Her role in the Mexican Communist Party and her mix of political concepts into her surreal and often spiritual paintings was an early example of how to do so. As an adult, she shows me it's possible to continue to create no matter the condition you're in; creating because you must, not necessarily to sell.

Please note that this artwork ships unframed to save us both on cost and the earth on transport. Your new piece will find you in a flat, hard-back envelope to prevent wrinkling and creasing. When framing and/or hanging, consider placing it out of direct sunlight to preserve the paint and paper better. All artworks are signed on the backside of the paper (in addition potentially to other mad scribblings).
