This original work is an ink drawing and painting made with sumi and fine-liners like most of my paintings in addition to imitation gold leaf. The inspiration to paint this came from studying the history of Buddhism and the dharma. Kuan Yin - sometimes represented as a goddess, other times a bodhisattva, other times still a buddha - is a symbol of compassion found in many countries like China, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam. This painting served as practice for translating religious/spiritual symbolism in a visual format and replicating traditional Chinese and Japanese modes of ink painting in my own style.

Please note that this artwork ships unframed to save us both on cost and the earth on transport. Your new piece will find you in a flat, hard-back envelope to prevent wrinkling and creasing. When framing and/or hanging, consider placing it out of direct sunlight to preserve the paint and paper better. All artworks are signed on the backside of the paper (in addition potentially to other mad scribblings).
